Best ever Focus for MPA

Almost 100 photographers joined the Master Photographers Association during the recent Focus on Imaging exhibition held at the NEC, Birmingham - the most ever in the history of the show.

Many of the 93 new members also gained Licentiate qualification after showing a panel of work at the Professional Photographic Qualifications Board (PPQB) stand, meaning they can now use the letters 'LMPA' after their name.

The PPQB is a joint initiative between the MPA and the British Institute of Professional Photography (BIPP). During the course of the show 86 photographers had their work assessed at the stand. The 70 successful applicants were then able to join either, or both, associations as Licentiates. This is the best success rate ever for Licentiate applications at Focus.

There was also great interest in the MPA's Cherubs baby promotion, now that it has been opened up to all professional photographers in the UK. Previously Cherubs was only available to qualified MPA members.

In its 11th year, Cherubs is the Association's most successful sales promotion. The MPA can now provide photographers with names and addresses of mothers with new born babies in any region of the UK. MPA members have first pick from the list, followed by BIPP members, then all other professional photographers. The leads can be used for any one-off photographic promotion.

Photographers requiring further information on Cherubs, purchasing portrait leads or joining the MPA should call 0845 130 9700 or email enq@thempa.com
