User Group receives sponsorship boost
The North Yorkshire CCTV User Group has received a major boost to its
programme.
A sponsorship deal has been struck with Fujifilm which will see the brand
leader in the CCTV Media market become the sponsor of the North Yorkshire
CCTV User Group CCTV Operator of the Year Award 2003.
The User Group, which is a partnership between the police, local authorities
and Catterick Garrison, was set-up to improve standards of primary monitoring
of CCTV across the North Yorkshire area.
As CCTV Project Manager John Bolton explained, the deal is a real coup
for the organisation: "We are delighted to have such a major name
as Fujifilm involved with our project. They are the world market leader
in the imaging industry and, through their experience of the market, Fujifilm
are a key player in the CCTV field. With the help of their generous sponsorship
we will be able to reward our region's best CCTV operator."
Tim Husband of Fujifilm was more than happy to assist the project: "CCTV
User Groups from across the country play a vital part in improving the
way CCTV systems are used. The raising of standards within the industry
can only have a positive effect on society as a whole and Fujifilm is
dedicated to helping make this happen."
The award will be given to the operator who consistently achieves a high
level of professional performance and achievement, or for the exceptional
monitoring of a specific incident. The winner will be presented with a
specially designed silver salver and £600 in holiday vouchers at
a ceremony to be held at Police Headquarters at Northallerton on 7 April.
