RESEARCH SURVEY – RESULTS PUBLISHED
Fujifilm recently commissioned independent research into end users and
their attitudes toward CCTV system management. The research focused on
working practices, legislation and procedures for operators of CCTV systems.
The results have now been published and they make fascinating reading.
They clearly illustrate that many users are failing to get the best out
of their system. Many could find their surveillance footage inadmissible
because of procedural irregularities.
Amongst the findings, the survey revealed that:
66% of Digital Video System users are unaware of how to present digital
video as evidence.
61% of Digital Video System users allow footage to be overwritten as soon
as the hard disk is filled.
63% of users are not fully aware of their obligations under Data Protection
Act or of evidential video procedures.
The results of the survey are contained in a booklet which is available
from Fujifilm. To request a copy, please contact Tim Husband, Fujifilm
Recording Media, Fujifilm House, 125 Finchley Road, London, NW3 6HY, or
call 020 7586 5900.
