Fujifilm Professional's Astia 100F sets new benchmark
Thanks to cutting-edge emulsion technologies, the newly launched Fujichrome
Astia 100F sets a new benchmark for colour transparency film image quality.
As the film boasts strikingly improved reproduction of skin tones and
textures, Fujifilm Professional has targeted the film primarily at the
fashion portrait and commercial market. Offering the most gentle contrast
characteristics in the Fujichrome line, Astia 100F also makes use of advanced
interlayer-effect technology for dramatically improved skin tones and
textures.
The newly developed Multi-Structured Sigma Crystal technology used in
the production of Astia 100F offers exceptionally fine grain. This fine
grain structure further enhances its ability to reproduce beautiful skin
tones and capture detail both in highlights and shadows.
New PSHC (Pure, Stable and High Performance Dye-Forming Coupler) technologies
have been developed for Astia 100F. These mean that the new film combines
exceptional colour purity and stability with high colour formation efficiency.
This new chemistry also significantly improves colour stability and freedom
from fading and shift over conventional films.
Graham Rutherford, director of Fujifilm Professional, is excited by the
release: "Fashions change, and many photographers and magazines are
now looking for more subdued, natural skin tones while retaining accurate
colour reproduction across the spectrum. I am delighted that our research
scientists have tailored the new Astia 100F to suit this specialist trend
in fashion and editorial photography."
Rutherford went on to say: "While retaining the strength we have
with Velvia and Provia in so many areas of professional photography, we
now have a very different style of product to ideally suit the reproduction
standards demanded by the leading fashion magazines."
The film is available from mid August in a variety of formats: 135 36-exposure
cassettes, 35mm 100ft rolls, 120 singles, 120 roll packs, 220 roll packs
and sheets.
