Fujifilm provides new schools photography solution to John Hunt
John Hunt Photography of Radcliffe, Manchester has become the latest schools outfit to take on the Fujifilm schools software and Frontier print system. The solution comprises a highly productive Fujifilm Frontier 770 minilab with Halse LS LiteBox Schools software. Using the Fujifilm solution, John Hunt will capture images on Fujifilm S5 Pro DSLR cameras equipped with barcode readers. He’ll print schools photos on Fujifilm Fujicolor Crystal Archive professional photo paper.
When John Hunt’s growing schools photography business needed more speed and more facilities from his minilabs and schools software, he studied the alternatives and chose Fujifilm, the leading provider of photo imaging solutions in the UK. The Fujifilm solution gave him Halse LS LiteBox Schools workflow software, with database facilities and the ability to read image barcode data, tightly integrated with the Fujifilm Frontier 770 minilab. It is twice as fast as the pair of hybrid labs John replaced. He needed to output all the 6x4 inch proof cards for any school by two days after a shoot. With the Fujifilm solution, he can, and now prints between 2,500 and 3,000 proofs a day at peak seasons.
John Hunt says: “The Halse system supplied by Fujifilm processes schools packages more efficiently, so there’s less cutting and sorting. All the work can now be done by just one to two people.”
John Hunt has changed the brand of paper the business uses too. He now prints on Fujifilm Fujicolor Crystal Archive. John says: “It’s a big improvement on our previous brand, with better colour consistency. The way we run the Frontier 770 with Fujifilm chemistry, we’re controlling much finer tones than before, so we need that extra consistency from the paper.
“I have a very high opinion of Fujifilm,” he continues. “They’re very professional, very quick, and the backup they provide is superb. It’s been my best experience of any company. They’re excellent.”
