Fujifilm 'Focused' on Frontier launches

Fujifilm has reported 'phenomenal interest' in its products following the recent Focus on Imaging trade show.

The company's renowned range of Frontier minilabs caused the biggest stir, with a steady stream of orders for the newly launched 710, 770 and DL400 drylab: "We were really busy giving demos of the new minilabs and many of these demos resulted in firm orders," said Fujifilm's Paul Austin. "We decided to use the show as our launch-pad for the three new Frontiers and we had phenomenal interest from both new and existing customers. Our sales team will be busy for the foreseeable future following-up leads and orders that were generated at Focus."

Focus was also a popular meeting point for members of the Fuji Digital Imaging Service (FDIS) group of high street photo retailers. As Peter Wigington from Fujifilm said, this was invaluable: "Focus always gives us a great opportunity to meet up with existing customers as well as reaching out to new ones. Lots of FDIS members are seeing real benefits from upgrading their existing kiosks to Smartpix software. This has also meant that many of them now realise the need for additional kiosks and upgraded labservers to manage the extra business this generates so it was great to be able to help so many of our members face-to-face. I was also delighted to welcome three new businesses to our FDIS group after they signed-up at the show."

Paul Austin summed up the mood of the show: "The whole industry seems to have a renewed sense of energy and confidence. This is extremely encouraging especially as the industry has gone through such challenging times recently. Many imaging businesses now seem to view expenditure on equipment as an investment, rather than merely a cost."
